Experience Designer (Sep 2019 - Nov 2021)

About
MY EXPERIENCE AT ACCENTURE
Within the wide range of Accenture clients and projects; I have taken the role of an experience designer for projects at different realms such as;
Automotive
E-Commerce
Insurance
Life Sciences
Chemistry
Energy
My Experience
I worked with internal teams or clients from different cities all over the world like;
Boston
Michigan
Houston
London
Berlin
Hamburg
Frankfurt
Sydney
Milan
Turin
Amsterdam
Paris
Johannesburg
Budapest
Bucharest
Istanbul
New Delhi
In a typical project I am responsible for the following steps;

Collaboration with Business Team
As an initiation to each project, I team up with the business team to find out the North Star for the project, analyze business needs and get to know the realm and the client better before meeting with them, so I can prepare my questions better for the client meeting.

Benchmarking
Before meeting with clients, I check all over the internet to see the related projects from both competitors or even new start-ups, so I can see what ideas have been leading the market and what the new ideas that are following are.

Client Meetings
Client meetings are always the most important part of the projects. This is the part where I understand what they really care for, how they define themselves so I can reflect that on the designs. Besides, this is the part where we gain the trust of the client, to let them know that they are heard and their project is in safe hands.

User Interviews
After getting the whole picture, I start the project by conducting user interviews with stakeholders from different departments that are related to the project in order to understand the user needs comprehensively. After collecting all the information from the stakeholders from the client side I analyze and group the information I get.

Collaboration with Development Team
Knowing the technical structure of a project is as important as knowing the user. So, I start my projects by meeting with the development team also to find out our limitations for this project, what applications they are using etc.

Wireframe Design
As the conclusion of the meetings that were held with the stakeholders, users, business team and the development team, I create the initial structure for the project as a wireframe scenario so whole team can put their ideas on the pages before they are designed in detail.

Feedback Sessions
After having the wireframes, I conduct feedback sessions on them with both client side or our business and development team, so that everybody can be in the same page and everybody gets the essential idea of how we proceed the designs before making big progress on the designs.

User Interface Design
User interface designs have too much components in them and I start this process with the identity creation, such as choosing the right colors and the component type that reflects brand identity and are also accessible. If a design system is not ready yet, I build the design system in time.

Presentation
Good presentation is as important as good design. I present my end works to either the clients' management team or Accenture leadership with good prototypes so that they can get the real sense of the product on a phone, tablet or desktop view. After making presentations, I provide a prototype to give the clients a chance to try out the platform as a demo so that they can experience the platform on their own.

Sharing My Progress with Other Designers
Sharing the outcomes of my projects with the design teams that I am a part of is one of the most inspiring and productive parts of my progress. Sharing my insights, taking their opinions and listening their projects enable me think out of the box, be open to new ideas, rethink my process and give me confident, make me feel like a part of a team.
Sample Project
ONE OF THE PROJECTS I WAS A PART OF AT ACCENTURE
Please keep in mind that due to the strict NDA rules; this is the only project I can display in my portfolio since it was published on both Accenture's and Petrofac's websites.
Digital Transformation of Petrofac:
Accenture and Petrofac rediscover Petrofac's upstreaming operations, engineering and construction services.
PERSONAL NOTES ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE AT ACCENTURE
What I liked
Accenture is a place where you feel like a world citizen every hour of every day. Being in a huge organization, jumping from one project to another with the smartest people around is definitely an adventure. The dynamic environment and the wide range of projects are always eye-opening. The policies for equality and diversity are another reason why I have been proud of being a part of Accenture.
What challenged me
The most challenging part of the projects we have worked on at Accenture was the unfamiliar content related to digital manufacturing industries such as energy and chemistry. But getting used to questioning what I don't know and seeing that I am able to build a whole new product from scratch have become the biggest strengths I gained at Accenture and I am glad I worked on those projects and encountered those challenges.
